The National Council for Home Safety and Security has released their list of the safest cities in Washington State and it’s mixed news for the Yakima Valley.
Let’s start with the good news- Sunnyside ranked as the safest city in the Yakima Valley and came in as the third safest in the entire state! Grandview wasn’t too far behind either coming in at #6 for the entire state.
The rankings only considered cities who filed a complete crime report with the FBI and cities with 10,000 or more residents. There were a total of 72 cities that met the criteria. Yakima, maybe predictably, didn’t fare so well on the list of safest cities in Washington coming in at #56.
